Canned Food Recall Notice: Canine Caviar Pet Foods is issuing a voluntary recall for the following canned food items:

• Canine Caviar Canned Gourmet Beaver
• Canine Caviar Canned Gourmet Turkey

This voluntary recall does not include any Canine Caviar Dry Foods, treats or supplements.

Canine Caviar has indicated that the company who manufactures these foods for them may have included an unauthorized rice protein ingredient in these particular canned foods. There have been no illnesses reported, they have not found contamination in any of the food they have tested, but they are issuing the recall in the interest of pet safety.

Canine Caviar did not authorize the use of rice protein concentrate in these formulas. This recall applies only to the flavors / formulas listed above, and no other foods from Canine Caviar are affected.

The following SKUs are those affected: 13.2 oz Gourmet Turkey UPC 674555222134, 13.2 oz Gourmet Beaver – UPC 674555221328, 5.5 oz Gourmet Beaver – UPC 674555221557 dated best by Aug 21, 08 or later.

We do not believe that any of the affected lots were sold by Whole Pet Foods but we are however asking that all Whole Pet Foods customers who have purchased canned Gourmet Beaver and canned Gourmet Turkey please contact us at support@wholepetfoods.com to participate in this voluntary recall.
